There is nothing better than spending time near a flowing river. Rivers are a source of adventure, are rooted in our culture and history, provide a space for solitude, and of course are the ultimate source of fun! Making time to connect with river, whether they flow through cities, along pastoral landscapes or in the wild like the Green River through Desolation Canyon, is worth its weight in gold. In my experience, every river adventure impacts us as in both big and small ways: they shape our memories, fuel stories between family and friends, and teach us a new lesson every time we step to it’s banks. We have a responsibility to protect the places and rivers that fuel who we are. We each have a opportunity to ensure our favorite river is protected for our memories, and for the memories that have yet to be created.
